Best Horror Movies

Here’s my list of the best Horror movies. I’m doing it by today’s standards. Meaning if you saw a horror movie in the theaters in 1970 it probably scared you more than any Horror movie now, but I wasn’t born yet, I didn’t see it until many years later. So, it wasn’t that good for me, compared to new horror movies. Example: The Exorcist, I though it was okay, but people I know that saw it when it first came out loved it. So, here’s my list. I know many will disagree…

Top 25 Horror Movies

1. Hostel (2005)
2. The Hills Have Eyes (2006)
3. The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974)
4. The Ring (2002)
5. Wolf Creek (2005)
6. May (2002)
7. High Tension (2005)
8. Ginger Snaps (2000)

16. Saw (2004)

    the ruins

  • horrorexpert

Dude…for what it’s worth putting my opinion on an almost-dead thread, The Strangers was one of the best horror movies made in the past 10 years. If you don’t think that movie was at least a good horror movie, I doubt the rest of your opinions regarding horror/thriller/scary movies.

(especially the scene where we first see the “strangers” inside the house, but the actors don’t see them one of the top 10 scary movie scenes in the past 10 years)

The Strangers was so boring and corny. The people had chances to get away so many times it was unbelievable. I never seen so many people get up and walk out of a theater, but I was stupid and actually stayed though the whole boring movie. Not 1 scary part in that movie.

  • Mike

horrorexpect, the fact that you think the stangers was good makes ME doubt the rest of your opinions.

respectfully, hardly anyone even knows what the strangers is, that movie went right under everyones radar and it should stay there as it had no imagination whatsoever

  • Danu

Paranormal Activity was good. But it might be the fact that I watched it on a train in the middle of the woods in a snow storm all alone that made it a little more intense. The Strangers was not all that interesting. Very boring.
